Interior Renovations Underway for the Castlegar Branch
This project is a long-term investment in Castlegar—designed to create a more modern space that supports fast, efficient day-to-day service and better space for advice and conversations when members need it.

Key dates
- Fri, May 15th: Expected completion
- Tues, January 27th: Regular hours resume.
- Sat, January 24th: Early closure @ 12:00pm. To allow our renovation crew enough time to begin setup over the weekend, the Castlegar Branch will close early this day.

- We see strong potential here and we’re committed to being part of this community for decades.
- A better member experience that supports the way members bank today. Fast service when that’s what’s needed, and space for advice when that’s what members come in for.
- A better staff experience through a more functional, modern workspace that supports great service and staff development over time.
What to expect during the renovation
We’re working hard to minimize disruption and keep service running as normally as possible. Most of the work will be staged to reduce impacts in the member service area. You may notice temporary changes inside the branch as the project progresses. If anything will affect member access, equipment, or service flow, we will communicate it in advance through this webpage, in-branch signage, and direct notices to members via Email and Online Banking.
ATM upgrade
As part of the renovation, we have moved the ATM to the exterior wall. This is a major improvement that will provide 24/7 access—with no need to keep the lobby open for ATM access. This work has already been completed.
Project updates
We’ll post updates here as information becomes available.
- Jan 14, 2026: Interior renovation announced to members.
- January 24, 2026: Early closure and the renovation has officially begun.
- January 27, 2026: Regular hours have resumed, and we are working from temporary spaces in the branch – please bear with us!
- March 10 – Renovations are progressing as expected, with the main lobby area being back open for service in the coming two / three weeks.
- March 26 – Phase 2 begins, with the main lobby space re-opened, and the ATM now located on the exterior wall.

This significant investment of approximately $1,000,000 represents not only a commitment to our members but also to the Castlegar community.
The renovations focused on a full exterior refresh, enhancing the branch’s appearance and presence in Castlegar’s core commercial area. This revitalized space is designed to bring fresh energy to the community while ensuring a safe, modern, and accessible experience for everyone.
We’re also proud to have worked with Horvath Contracting and Design LTD., a local contractor that brought exceptional quality and craftsmanship to this project. Supporting local businesses is at the heart of what we do, and it was a pleasure to collaborate with a team that shares our values.
While the branch remained operational throughout the renovation, we understand it required patience from our members. We are so grateful for your understanding as we worked to bring this vision to life.
