StellerVista Credit Union, Board of Directors

Nominations are open for StellerVista Credit Union’s Board of Directors, from January 30th, 2026, to March 1st, 2026 – closing at noon on the 1st, mountain standard time.

If you are passionate about your community, ready to take on a leadership role, and have the drive to make a meaningful impact, we encourage you to apply.

What Does It Mean to Be a Director?

At StellerVista Credit Union, our Directors play a vital role in guiding our organization.

Directors are:

  • Regional Representatives: They reflect the communities and regions we serve, ensuring that local voices are heard.
  • Advocates for Members: Directors act on behalf of our ~19,000 members, safeguarding their interests and promoting their financial well-being.
  • Community Leaders: They take pride in fostering excellence and driving positive change in the Kootenay and Boundary regions.

The Role and Commitment

Being a Director is a serious commitment that requires:

  • Time and Dedication: Participation in regular board and committee meetings.
  • Ongoing Education: Directors are expected and required to engage in continuous learning to stay informed about governance and the financial industry.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: A positive, constructive attitude is essential for working effectively with fellow board members.

Directors help shape the future of our credit union and contribute to the growth and vitality of our local communities.

Director Skills & Experience

As part of our regular governance process, StellerVista reviews the full skills matrix of our Board to ensure we maintain strong competence across all areas needed to guide the organization. Based on this review, we are currently seeking director candidates with expertise in the following priority areas for 2026:

  1. Accounting – CPA

  2. Financial Services Industry and Credit/Lending Experience

  3. Financial Literacy

  4. Growth & Market Expansion Experience

  5. Risk Identification and Management

  6. Legal Experience
